Privacy Policy

1. What Data We Store

Pin-It stores the following information locally on your device using the Chrome chrome.storage.local API:

• Website URLs you choose to pin
• Custom names and notes you assign to your pins
• Categories you select for organizing pins
• Favicon URLs associated with pinned websites
• Timestamps of when pins were created

2. How Your Data Is Stored

All data is stored entirely on your local device using Chrome's built-in storage API. No data is ever sent to any external server, cloud service, or third party. Your pins exist only in your browser's local storage.

3. Data Collection

Pin-It does not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, etc.)
• Browsing history or activity
• Analytics or usage data
• Cookies or tracking identifiers
• Any data for advertising purposes

4. Permissions Used

Pin-It requests the following browser permissions, each used solely to deliver core functionality:

• tabs — To detect tab switches and display the current page's title and URL in the side panel.
• activeTab — To read the active tab's title, URL, and favicon when you interact with the extension.
• storage — To save your pinned links locally on your device across browser sessions.
• sidePanel — To render the extension UI as a persistent side panel alongside your browsing content.

5. Data Sharing

Pin-It does not share any data with third parties. There are no external network requests made by this extension. No remote code is loaded or executed.

6. Export & Import

Pin-It offers an export feature that saves your pins as a JSON file to your local device, and an import feature that reads a JSON file from your local device. Both operations are entirely offline and local.

7. Data Deletion

You can delete individual pins at any time through the extension interface. Uninstalling the extension will remove all stored data permanently.

8. Children's Privacy

Pin-It does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The extension does not collect personal information from any user.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
